Welcome to Eco-Erek, a place to share eco-ideas! I’m 11 years old and I LOVE to recycle. I hope you do to. Helping to save Planet Earth’s resources is important to me.
I like to read about ways that we humans can be resourceful with our stuff. Not everything can and should get thrown in the landfill. There is only so much room for all of our garbage! I don’t like when I see things that we throw away, especially plastic, end up in our oceans and rivers and trees. Yuck!
Have a look around my site and help me, help our planet!
My Goal
●Communicate importance of recycling.
●Show how easy recycling is.
●Promote resourcefullness in people.
●Promote conservation of Mother Earth.
(animals, oceans, rainforests,
arctic region, mountains, etc.)
●Try to Reuse, Reduce, or Recycle ONE item a day.

Denim
EcoErek will once again be collecting denim in 2012 on behalf of Cotton. From Blue to Green. The collected denim is shredded into cotton fibers and remanufactured into housing insulation to benefit communities affected by a natural disaster. In the past, the denim insulation has gone to Habitat for Humanity to help communities devistated by Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast region. and Shoes
We are happy to announce that we will also be accepting your unwanted shoes of ANY kind at the upcoming drives. In order to do this, we have partnered with USAgain, a company dedicated to conserving precious natural resources and reducing landfill waste.
I need your help! My goal is to collect 5,000 denim items and 5,000 prs. of shoes this year! With your help, we can keep these textiles out of our Northwest Ohio Landfills! Please contact us at info@ecoerek.org if you are interested in holding a drive at your workplace. Thank you!
Sincerely - Erek
